North America Channel Sales & Partnerships Manager
Retail, Distribution & Organizational Sales
About Kora
Kora is building technology that helps families organize everyday life. Through connected home displays and software, we bring shared schedules, household routines, and everyday planning into one place.
We’re expanding how families discover and purchase Kora, and we’re looking for a Channel Sales & Partnerships Manager to build our offline sales business across North America.
The role
You will identify, win, launch, and grow partnerships with retailers, distributors, NGOs, nonprofits, and other organizations that can bring Kora to more households.
Potential retail targets include Best Buy, Walmart, and relevant regional and specialty retailers. You will also develop opportunities for organizational purchases, member programs, and funded deployments where Kora meets a clear customer need.
This is a hands-on commercial role with responsibility for prospecting, pitching, negotiating, closing, and growing accounts. You should be comfortable building a pipeline from the beginning and staying involved through product launch, customer purchases, and repeat orders.
What you'll own
1. New retail and distribution business
- Develop a prioritized account plan based on customer fit, revenue potential, profitability, and time to launch.
- Build relationships with retail buyers, category managers, distributors, and other purchasing decision-makers.
- Lead outreach, product demonstrations, buyer presentations, proposals, and commercial negotiations.
- Secure initial purchase orders and develop opportunities to expand into additional stores, product assortments, and territories.
- Evaluate distributors, sales representatives, and agencies where they can help Kora reach the right accounts.
2. Organizational and community partnerships
- Identify NGOs, nonprofits, family-serving organizations, associations, and other institutions with a practical use case for Kora.
- Develop bulk-purchase, member-benefit, and sponsor-funded programs with clear commercial terms.
- Understand each opportunity’s decision-makers, funding source, procurement process, and purchasing timeline.
- Structure pilots with agreed goals, responsibilities, and a path to larger purchases.
- Build relationships that lead to repeat orders and referrals.
3. Commercial terms and account economics
- Develop proposals covering wholesale pricing, order volumes, payment terms, promotional support, returns, and partner responsibilities.
- Assess the financial impact of discounts, distributor margins, retail fees, and marketing commitments.
- Negotiate within agreed company guidelines and coordinate approvals for contracts and exceptions.
- Recommend channel offers and product bundles that meet partner needs and support Kora’s broader pricing strategy.
4. Partner onboarding and launch
- Coordinate with product, marketing, operations, and customer support to prepare partners for launch.
- Help partners communicate Kora’s value through clear demonstrations, sales materials, staff training, and in-store merchandising.
- Coordinate retailer onboarding and product setup, including required product information, packaging details, and launch schedules.
- Work with operations on inventory availability, order fulfillment, and partner requirements.
- Resolve commercial issues promptly and keep launch commitments realistic.
5. Sales growth and performance
- Own agreed channel revenue, margin, and new-account targets.
- Track both sales to partners and sell-through—the products partners sell to end customers.
- Monitor inventory, promotional performance, returns, and reorder activity to identify opportunities and problems early.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline, account records, and sales forecast.
- Conduct regular partner reviews and recommend actions to improve results.
- Bring buyer and customer feedback into Kora’s product and marketing decisions.
What you bring
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in channel sales, national accounts, retail business development, or distribution, with demonstrated commercial results.
- Experience selling physical consumer products, ideally consumer electronics, smart-home devices, connected hardware, or related categories.
- A track record of personally winning new accounts and growing revenue after launch.
- Experience working with major retailers, specialty retailers, or distributors in the U.S. and/or Canada.
- An understanding of wholesale pricing, partner margins, promotional spending, inventory, returns, and account profitability.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence using sales and inventory data to make decisions.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize opportunities, and follow through in a growing company.
- Willingness to travel for buyer meetings, partner launches, and relevant trade events.
Especially valuable
- Existing relationships with relevant retail buyers, category managers, or distributors.
- Experience bringing an emerging brand into a new retail channel.
- Familiarity with retailer vendor portals, onboarding requirements, and purchasing cycles.
- Experience with organizational procurement, nonprofit partnerships, bulk purchases, or sponsored programs.
- Experience selling hardware with an accompanying software or subscription offering.
- Experience developing business in both the United States and Canada.
What success looks like
During your first 90 days, you will develop a focused channel plan, establish a qualified pipeline, advance buyer conversations, and prepare actionable proposals or pilot opportunities.
Over time, success will be measured by new revenue-producing accounts, profitable sales growth, successful launches, healthy sell-through, repeat orders, and reliable forecasts. Targets and timelines will reflect partner buying cycles and Kora’s product and inventory readiness.
Why join Kora
You’ll have the opportunity to shape how Kora reaches families across North America and build a meaningful part of the business. Your work will connect customer needs with product strategy, create lasting partner relationships, and directly influence our growth.
